I was executive producer on this 4-part series with Chuck D from Public Enemy, examining the rise and role of hip hop as a voice of social commentary, resistance and change. Featuring interviews with Melle Mel, LL Cool J, Eminem, Monie Love, Grandmaster Caz, KRS-One, MC Lyte, Roxanne Shanté and other icons of Hip Hip and cultural figureheads of the last 50 years woven into extensive archive. As well as shaping the narrative through-line of the series and individual films, I also navigated complicated licensing and compliance issues.

“This brilliantly nuanced documentary…’ Daily Telegraph.
“Superb…smart, sobering and clear-headed…” Times
“Brilliant…” Observer.
“Cannot say enough good things about this series. Just wish it was longer” Lauren Laverne, Twitter.
